Developed by the New Zealand Institute for Plant and Food Research hop breeding program and released in 2002, Pacific Jade is a cross of New Zealand First Choice (a relative of the Late Cluster) and a Saaz male. It is suited for use as a bittering hop but also delivers bold citrus and spice aroma characteristics.
